Hey there! I’m Zan, a multi-media artist based in Victoria, BC. Welcome to the Salty Snail Design Lab!
I’ve always believed that inspiration, like any spark of light, is a precious gift meant to be shared.
It comes to us in a spectacular stroke of brilliance, lending itself to us for a time as it paints beautiful images behind closed eyes. We revel in it – experiencing and embodying it in its entirety, and then with a touch of our own magic, we release it back to the world.
In this way, we keep moving forward.

I created the Salty Snail Design Lab as a means to further explore and embrace this belief. In having a space to display my work and carry forward the inspiration that works its way through me every day, I feel both blessed and honoured to have the opportunity to release my vision back to the world.
Built on the value of connection, shared magic, and support for your fellow human, it is my dream to one day expand this project into an arts collective that many can take part in and enjoy. In the meantime, all the work featured in this space is my own original work. I hope you enjoy!

What We Do
Traditional Art
Ah… tradition. Who doesn’t love tradition? We certainly do, and it loves us! Graphite, charcoal, chalk, pastel, crayon, paint, ink, dye, plaster, clay… just to name a few. You name it, we do it. Tradition made new.
Digital Art
Currently rocking a Wacom Intuos and a Kamvas Pro, we’re well versed in a multitude of digital imaging software including Autodesk Sketchbook, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Painter Essentials, Clip Studio Paint Pro and most generations of Adobe Photoshop/Elements/CS.
In-House Prints
All of our prints are printed in-house on premium, fade resistant matte paper, producing vivid, long lasting, larger than life colours that are guaranteed to stand out in any space. Each print is quality checked by yours truly and packed flat to ship. Rest assured, there will be no awkward unrolling upon arrival. ;]

Got an idea that’s out of this world? Need someone to make it happen? Perhaps you have no ideas but need something custom designed anyways? We can do that. From concept to creation, just say the word and we’ll whip up something snazzy just for you! Nobody else will have anything like it, so you can go ahead and brag about it… Sounds pretty special, right?

That’s right, EXPERIMENTS!!! This is a design LAB after all, and what kind of a lab would it be without experiments? Keep your eyes peeled for unique one-of-a-kind releases, from specialized items to top secret projects… we’re pretty proficient in crafting, and we love to play!

We care about the environment. That’s why our locally sourced and environmentally friendly packaging is made from 90% recycled materials. Plus, we’re always looking for innovative new ways to reduce waste! We strongly encourage reusing or recycling your packaging wherever possible [check your local recycling guidelines].
